Whether you're tackling a hospital-wide improvement project or guiding your team through a local effort, you'll find the team is excited and has lots of ideas to contribute. However, it can be a challenge to maintain that momentum and hold people accountable for following through.

Keep your project on track by making them highly visual and a natural part of your daily team rhythm.

Note: "Aim" is just another word for "goal" or "initiative."

  • navigate to the Improvement Page

  • click the 3 dot menu on the top right of the page

  • click Create Aim

  • select Driver Diagram

  • You can view a sample aim - useful for orienting new users to our layout - or simply click START HERE

  • Title (required): Give your aim a descriptive title

  • Description (optional): Provide details on why you're working on it, what you hope to achieve, or additional instructions such as a refresher on the protocol.

  • Start and End Date (optional): Some aims last hours and other years! What's the anticipated timeline?

  • Our Values (optional): Showcase efforts that align with your organization's core values. The leaders will love you for it, too.

  • Focus Area (required): Let folks know the variety of areas in which you can improve. We recommend working on at least one clinical and one cultural aim.

Click Save and land on your new aim's detail screen. From here, you can add measures, strategies and an action plan to your aim.
