When running a demo or training, you may often find yourself doing a lot of prep work before-hand to get the board ready to be used without any distracting or unnecessary content. This may include archiving out-of-date cards, updates, measures, aims, calendar events, huddles, tabs, lists, or surveys. It could also include getting rid of content added to test different features or archiving content from training or demo attendees learning to interact with LENS.
To make this process faster and easier, the Product Team designed and implemented the Snapshots feature. This new tool allows us to save the state of a board at one moment in time and store it for later use. A board can then be reset to a previous state using an existing snapshot.
What does a Snapshot Include?
Every element that is included in a board being duplicated (i.e. created from a template board) is included in a snapshot. In particular, tabs and lists on the Voice page, Updates, most Today page content, and Aims will be stored. Huddles, calendar events, standalone measures, and surveys will not be stored and will be automatically cleared when a board is restored to a snapshot.
How do I create a Snapshot?
Snapshots is a feature available to super users on the Admin page. The best way to request a snapshot be created is to reach out the Client Experience team via Intercom or send an email to LENSsupport@safeandreliablecare.com. When your board's content is ready to go for a demo or training, send us a message and request that a snapshot be made. All you need to provide is the board you'd like the snapshot of, the title of the snapshot, and a brief description of what it includes. That way we will be able to easily find the snapshot again in the future when you want it to be applied.
How do I reset a board to a Snapshot that was created previously?
Similarly, just reach out to the Client Experience team via Intercom to request a board be reset to a Snapshot! We will confirm the details with you and let you know when the Snapshot has been successfully applied.
