Sharing with the team

  • If any team member missed the huddle or wants to revisit something that was discussed, the updates are available to them in LENS to review.

  • Instead of email, tell your team you’ll post updates here throughout the day. For example, if there is a pharmacy outage, you can share that news immediately.

Sharing beyond the team

  • If you also attend a cross-unit or hospital huddle, take LENS with you on any device.

  • If you learn new information in these meetings, skip the email and push it out as an update in LENS.

Getting ready for next meeting

  • Assuming 75% of your agenda is the same every day, start collecting it in LENS as it's available for the next shift, and thinking about the 25% that is new.

  • Instead of putting it on a piece of scrap paper, create a new update (or many) in LENS and edit is as needed throughout the day. When it is dated, simply archive it and start a new one.

Reflecting on how it’s going

  • It's good practice to occasionally poll the staff to find out what they want to know in the huddles and if they meetings are effective.
