In this tutorial, we will be embedding a weather widget to an update and post it to the Today Page! This is a great option if you do not love the default weather app in LENS.

To add windy.com as a widget, we need to embed an iframe into the code. Let's break down the two steps: 1) compile code from windy.com and 2) create the update in LENS

1) Compile Code from Windy.com

  • navigate to windy.com

  • click window

  • click embed widget on page

  • select desired view on the map (click and drag and to move the map)

  • configure your map

  • click "copy to clip board" to copy the code to your clipboard

2) Create the Update in LENS

  • start by creating a new update (make sure it is pinned ✅ )

  • select the Three Dots icon (more misc)

  • select the Code View icon

  • paste in the code (see below)

  • click the Code View icon again to load the code

  • click SAVE!

Example of code text:

<iframe width="650" height="450" src="https://embed.windy.com/embed2.html?lat=27.886&lon=-82.114&detailLat=27.886&detailLon=-82.114&width=650&height=450&zoom=6&level=surface&overlay=wind&product=ecmwf&menu=&message=&marker=&calendar=now&pressure=&type=map&location=coordinates&detail=&metricWind=default&metricTemp=default&radarRange=-1" frameborder="0"></iframe>
