What is Spam?

Spam can be defined as unsolicited and unwanted email/text messages sent online to a bulk number of recipients. Spam can come from someone you know or from a complete stranger. These texts or emails may contain ads, notices of philanthropic opportunities, get rich quick schemes, chain emails, etc. While these emails can be a nuisance, they are not considered malicious. This type of spam is uncommon on LENS.

Phishing is a malicious attempt to obtain sensitive information by disguising as a trustworthy website, person, or company. Requests for personally identifiable information (PII) such as a password, credit card, bank account number, Social Security Number, etc. are examples of information attackers in a phishing campaign might seek. This type of spam is extremely rare on LENS.

Report Spam

If a spam text/email appears on your LENS board, notify LENS Support (LENSsupport@safeandreliablecare.com) immediately. LENS Support can examine the message to verify its source. The team will delete the spam and block the sender from ever texting/emailing your LENS board again.

Remember to never click links, open attachments, or reply to a message that looks like spam or a phishing attempt.

Security Risks

The grand majority of spam that ever appears in LENS is harmless. The only risk to security that spam can pose is if users click on links, open attachments, or reply to the sender. Let us know of these details when you report to us at LENS Support (LENSsupport@safeandreliablecare.com).

What LENS does to stop Spam?

LENS contains built-in spam filters. LENS can proactively examine images before they are posted on the Voice Page. If an uploaded or texted-in image does not meet our content guidelines, a placeholder image will display as an alternative to the blocked image. Once spam is reported, that sender can no longer add content to the board.
