Add an Image to an Update

  • Navigate to the Today Page

  • Click the ➕ Quick Add button on the bottom right to create a new update

  • There are 3 ways to add an image to an update:

    • Copy and paste

    • File selector

    • Download link

Copy the Image and Paste it Into the Text Field

You can quickly add an image to your update by copying it from another source and pasting it directly into the text field.

  • Copy the image from a website, document, or file viewer.

  • Click into the text field of your update.

  • Use Ctrl + V (Windows) or Command + V (Mac) to paste the image.

The image will automatically upload and appear in the update.

Note: This method does not work for .svg or .ico files. Use the file selector instead if you're trying to upload these formats.

Tip: If you’re copying from a website, make sure the image is not protected or restricted from copying. If it doesn’t paste correctly, try downloading the image and uploading it manually.

Select the Image to Embed From the File Browser

Upload an image directly from your device.

  • Click the Insert Images/Files icon

  • Click Browse from the modal

  • Browse your computer for the image file and select it

  • The image will upload and appear within your update

Insert the image as a download link

Adding a download link to an update is ideal for attachments that are too large to be entirely displayed in an update. It also allows users to easily download documents (such as audio, video, documents, and images) from the Today Page.

  • Click on the file icon

  • Drag and drop the file into the box or click to browse files for upload

Accepted Image File Types in Uploads

  • jpg (copy & paste, file select)

  • png (copy & paste, file select)

  • gif (copy & paste, file select -- the embedded image inserts at the bottom of the textfield.)

  • svg (file select)

  • ico (file select)

  • webp (copy & paste, file select)

  • tiff (copy & paste)

Note: If you receive the error "File is of invalid type", it is likely that you received this error incorrectly. Try again directly after and it should work!
