Various roles and permissions allow various access levels to LENS Users.

⭐ Roles

Member: A user who can create and view basic content on a board. These users are not counted as active members of the unit.

Members can see updates and participate in creating issues to address ideas for improvement, issues, concerns, and risk using the issues page. A good example of this is S&R staff who have access to your board, but are not Core Users.

Core User: A user who’s an active member of that board’s unit and engages with the board by creating content.

Core Users have the same access as Members (above) but these users ARE included in the denominator for work settings used for the Reports Page of LENS.

Manager: A user who has access to all LENS functionality including the ability to pull LENS report data and create content.

Managers create and manage all of the content, improvements, and survey work. The LENS Manager role is not a reflection of formal organizational managerial status, but rather a level of user access.

⭐ Permissions

Edit Content: The ability to create/edit updates, issues, aims, and other content.

A LENS Manager may decide that they need help managing the content on the Today Page. The Edit Content permission will grant a team member editing rights. Without managerial access, a team member with this permission will not be able to view the Admin Page and therefore does not have the ability to create and edit huddles, adjust highlighted aims or issues on the Today Page, or customize the board preferences.

Approve Access: The ability to approve access rights from a user's request to access a board.

There are some instances where a work setting leaders may want to limit/increase the number of people who can approve access to their LENS. Managers can toggle off/on the Approve Access permissions for those particular team members.

View Reports: The ability to view the reports page for their units.

Just as with the ability to approve access, work setting leaders may want to limit or increase the number of people who can view their LENS use report data. Managers can toggle off/on the View Reports permissions for those particular team members.
